A Shop for Killers ending in eight episodes is not enough for avid fans of the Kdrama. There are still a lot of questions left unanswered, but it did give us the answers to the questions we have since the show started. Like, for starters, why was Bale (Jo Han-Sun) going after Jeong Jin-Man (Lee Dong-Wook) and his entire family. You can read more about it in this A Shop for Killers Episode 7 recap.

If you finished the Kdrama and still have a few questions, don’t worry, you’re not alone. We’ll try to answer some of those questions for you.

What Happened to Jeong Ji-An?

After killing Lee Seong-Jo (Seo Hyun-Woo), Babylon puts a hit on Jeong Ji-An (Kim Hye-Jun), So Min-Hye (Geum Hannah), Pasin (Kim Min), and Brother (Lee Tae-Young). This leads to a whole new team of mercenaries after the four survivors.

Realizing that they were outnumbered, far too injured, and incapable to fight them off, Ji-An makes a deal with the 18 mercenaries that she’ll divide the bounty promised by Babylon, give them discounts, and better pricing than what her uncle offered. She also warns them that if they decide otherwise, she’ll kill everyone just like how she killed Seong-jo.

The mercenaries decide to take her offer. After all, they aren’t aware how skilled she is in killing her enemies. When they finally leave, Ji-An leaves the shopping mall and assesses the damage.

Realizing what had just happened, as well as the admission that Seong-jo made, Ji-An shouts in exasperation. It was, after all, a long day. She had just come from her uncle’s funeral, after all. Not only did she have to fight for survival, she also discovered that Bae Jeong-Min (Park Ji-Bin) had betrayed her uncle. Oh, and she had to fight off so many experienced mercenaries without knowing why they were after her in the first place.

But now that she has decided to take over the role of her uncle, she has a duty to honor as the manager of the shopping mall.

What Happened to Pasin and Min-Hye?

When Ji-An enters her old room, she finds it empty. Neither Min-Hye nor Pasin are inside.

In an earlier scene, we saw Min-Hye leaning against the bed and seemed to have taken her last breath. Pasin comes closer to her looking worried and that’s the last we see of the duo.

We have two theories on what could have happened. The first is that Pasin could have carried Min-Hye out in a hurry to bring her to a hospital since she was already badly injured.

The second theory we have is that Bale got them to them with a few of his remaining men. He could have taken them hostage so he could still have his revenge on Jeong Jin-Man and Ji-An. But we’re hoping it was the first theory.

Is Jeong Jin-Man Still Alive?

From the start of the series, we already refused to believe Jin-Man was dead. True enough, Ji-An is greeted by an injured Jin-Man, who is assisted out of a taxi by the detective who asked Ji-An to identify her uncle in the first episode.

The taxi driver is the same friend of Jin-Man’s who acted like he was surprised his friend had died. It all made sense in the ending of A Shop for Killers.

Since Jeong Jin-Man is alive all this time, we wonder what he could have been up to and why he pretended to be dead in the first place. These things have not yet been revealed in A Shop for Killers, which is why we’re hopeful a second season will be in store. But we also have another theory on this.

It’s possible that Jin-Man had to fake his death to lure out Bale’s men. He knows that Min-Hye and Pasin would be able to protect Ji-An without him so he had to leave her alone to go after Bale. After all, he knows that Bale would never let him off the hook.

With Ji-An left on her own, it gave Bale the confidence that Jin-Man was really dead. He could have ordered everyone to go after Ji-An to test if Jin-Man was really dead. He just didn’t expect that Ji-An would be protected by Min-Hye, Pasin, and Brother. He also did not expect that Jin-Man had prepared everyone for his attack.

With all of his men out to get Ji-An, Bale was now left exposed. This was how Jin-Man went after Bale and finally put an end to his menace. This could likely be the reason why Jin-Man needed assistance getting out of the taxi in the final scene of the show.

Will There Be A Shop for Killers Season 2?

Again, these are our theories. We don’t know yet what really happened to Bale and how Jin-Man ended up with a limp. If our theory holds true, A Shop for Killers Season 2 could focus on how Jin-Man enacted his plan from the start. It will also explain all the other men who helped him fake his death.

But if our earlier theory is correct (Bale has Pasin and Min-Hye), the second season could be a rescue mission. It would also explain where Min-Hye and Pasin are, especially since they left without saying goodbye to Ji-An.

We’ll have to wait for an official announcement on the show’s future. In the meantime, tell us what your theory is on Min-Hye and Pasin’s disappearance in A Shop for Killers ending.
