The penultimate episode, Miss Night and Day episode 15, is already available to stream on Netflix. And if you have kept up with the show’s episode release dates, you might feel a bit disappointed with this episode.

Miss Night and Day Episode 15 Questions Can’t Help But Ask

We feel you. Considering the finale is tonight, there are still A LOT of questions that the showrunners have left unanswered. We’ve rounded up these questions along with the best answers we could find. Hopefully, these questions will be answered in the finale of Miss Night and Day

Spoiler alert warning: if you still haven’t watched Miss Night and Day episode 15 at this point, make sure to skip this article for now and come back when you’re ready.

Why Did Gong Eun-Shim/Na Ok-Hui Get the Senior Internship Job?

In the previous episode, it was revealed that Na Ok-Hui (Bae Hae-Sun) was the killer that Gye Ji-Ung (Choi Jin-Hyuk) had been looking for all along. She was also one of the senior interns that Lim Sun (Lee Jung-Eun) worked with at the Prosecutors District Office.

As it turns out, Ok-Hui was a stolen identity of another senior who applied for the role. Gong Eun-Shim was the name of the real villain, who had to kill the real Ok-Hui to land a job at the District Office.

Although we’ve pretty much learned who she really is at this point, we still don’t know why she decided to get a job as a senior intern. She really didn’t need a job, especially after years of stealing jewelry, identity fraud, and even making Fentanyl drug transactions.

So why was Eun-Shim desperate to get the senior internship role to the point that she had to kill Ok-Hui and steal her identity?

One theory we have is that she was looking for the real name of Lee Mi-Jin (Jung Eun-Ji), who she came across as a witness from a previous episode.

She was unsure whether the name was Lee Mi-Jin or Lim Mi-Jin. It’s possible that she hoped she could use the database to look up the name and identify her based on her government records. 🤷‍♀️

Why Did Gong Eun-Shim Kill Her Victims?

It was explained in a previous episode that Eun-Shim had killed her victims because they witnessed her crime. In the past, Eun-Shim had done house visits for beauty and sedative injections.

While Kang Gyeong-Hui (Jun Eun-Chae), the wife of Hospital Director Baek Chul-Kyu (Jung Jae-Sung), was seen getting killed by Eun-Shim in a flashback, it’s possible that it was not her first time doing it. After all, she did not falter in killing her victim.

But because the show focused on these characters, her past victims could have simply been marked as missing or “runaways.” It was a pattern that Eun-Shim did with Mi-Jin’s aunt Lim Sun (Baek So-Mi). The family of her victims could have believed this lie, especially since the police did not suspect anything was amiss.

After Gyeong-Hui, Eun-Shim tried to withdraw her victim’s money. Lim Sun knew the real Gyeong-Hui and had previously been asked by Director Baek to help him look for his wife. So when Eun-Shim tried to get her money, she knew something was wrong.

Eun-Shim trailed Lim Sun that night and when her hunch proved true, she killed her because she was a witness. She then deleted the voicemail message that Lim Sun left for Director Baek.

Unfortunately, Gye Ji-Ung’s mom (Min Chae-Eun) was at the wrong place at the wrong time. She saw Eun-Shim’s crime and fled, leaving behind a lighter from her workplace.

Eun-Shim followed her there and pretended to look for a job. She took some time following her next target since she wanted to be sure it was her. When she saw that she was right, she struck her next victim.

There were no other victims after that killing spree. Eun-Shim could have lived the next several years doing the same scam. She then got a job as a senior intern at the District Prosecutor’s Office (for still unknown reasons) and killed Na Ok-Hui to steal her identity.

Her fellow senior intern, Ko Na-Heun (Choi Beom-Ho), saw the crime and was also killed. As she fled, she came across Lee Mi-Jin, who became another witness and her next target.

Why Didn’t She Kill Mi-Jin’s Dad?

Given the way the showrunner had lovingly exhibited Mi-Jin’s relationship with her dad, Lee Hak-Chan (Jung Suk-Yong), we originally feared that he would wind up dead.

The showrunner might have thought about this carefully since he also ended up being a witness. But because he was a crowd-favorite character, it would have been a shame and heartbreak to kill him before her confrontation with Mi-Jin.

Plus, it’s possible that she was intent on killing Mi-Jin, which is why she simply locked up her dad in her teahouse. She planned to return and take care of Mr. Lee after Mi-Jin had died.

How Did She End Up Driving Director Baek’s Car? What is Their Relationship?

Before Lim Sun identified Na Ok-Hui as the culprit, Director Baek had given her poppy flowers. Lim Sun realized that this was the unique scent that she smelled when she came across Eun-Shim.

But how did Director Baek know about the poppy flowers? Another question that fans of the show are wondering is how Eun-Shim managed to drive Director Baek’s car.

After all, this was the same car that Mi-Jin and Ji-Ung saw leaving the crime scene from episode 2. When they saw Director Baek driving the car, he became their prime suspect.

So how did she get ahold of his car? What was their relationship?

Side note: No one knew about the poppy flower because Eun-Shim did not use this as a perfume or anything ordinary. WebMD says that poppy seed pods contain opium, which is a source of opiates like morphine. It’s possible that she makes tea with the flower to drug her victims, like Mi-Jin’s dad.

Why Didn’t Mi-Jin Change Back to Her Old Self? What is Up With the Cat?

Before Mi-Jin got cursed, she rescued a *magical* cat. This is the same cat that led Ji-Ung to Mi-Jin in episode 15. But as we saw, Mi-Jin still turned to Lim Sun upon daybreak and Ji-Ung saw her transformation.

Since Mi-Jin had cracked the case and helped find the missing women, why hadn’t the curse been lifted yet? What is the significance of the cat?

We’ll know more tonight!

Why Did Mi-Jin Have to Break Up With Ji-Ung in Episode 15?

Now that Ji-Ung knows Mi-Jin’s secret, she decides to break up with him. In the trailer of Miss Night and Day episode 16, we also saw Ji-Ung preparing to leave town.

Well, we really don’t know why she had to break up with him at the most delicate time of his life. He had just found out his mom (who had been missing for over 20 years) was really dead and had been one of Eun-Shim’s victims.

He also saw his girlfriend transform into Lim Sun, an older woman who he had been working with recently. He had also confided in her that she was the only one he fully trusted. Why did she have to break his heart like that?

Will Investigator Ju Finally Get to Eat Pho?

Throughout the show, Investigator Ju Byung-Duk (Yoon Byung-Hee) had been craving pho. It would have been fitting if Do Ga-Yeong (Kim A-Young) had invited him to grab pho instead of ramyun in episode 15.

It was seriously a missed opportunity. Hopefully, he gets to indulge in a bowl of hot pho before the show ends.

Again, we’re hoping these Miss Night and Day episode 15 questions will be answered tonight. Otherwise, we’d hate to admit that this was a messy, but still likable Kdrama.
