After the halfway mark of the Kdrama, Miss Night and Day, we can’t help but be suspicious of the different characters in the show. We’re sure you already have thoughts on who the killer in Miss Night and Day is.
Although Miss Night and Day is a fantasy Kdrama about a woman in her 20s who transforms into an elder woman at night, the show has a sense of mystery to it.
We’ve slowly come to realize that the lives of several characters in the show are intertwined by a gruesome past. But after Miss Night and Day episode 8, we still don’t know for sure who the killer really is.
This is why we’ve decided to come up with a list of the different characters we can’t help but suspect could be the killer in Miss Night and Day. Do you suspect any of these characters too?
Before we proceed, we’d like to remind everyone that this post contains spoilers. If you haven’t caught up to the latest episode, we highly suggest that you avoid this article for now and come back another time.
3 Characters Who Could Be the Killer
There are some obvious characters in the show that we can’t help but suspect to have a hidden agenda. But we can’t help but think that the showrunner is throwing a curveball to distract viewers and surprise them with the identity of the real killer.
Baek Chul-Kyu
Let’s start with the most obvious suspect: the respected medical director, Baek Chul-Kyu (Jung Jae-Sung).
Mr. Baek’s entry into the series was a surprise as he took the place of one of the retired interns working at the prosecutor’s office. He is introduced as a retired medical director, who has earned the respect of locals after he made it his life’s mission to help those who are sick.
Why We Suspect It’s Him:
His entry in the show comes at a time that casts a lot of doubt on his identity. He has also grown quite curious about what happened to the retiree before him.
The showrunner is undeniably making viewers cast their doubts on Mr. Baek as the evidence against him continues to pile up.
In episode 8, Gye Ji-Ung (Choi Jin-Hyuk) becomes suspicious of Mr. Baek after learning he drives a gray SUV with the same last four digits as the mysterious car that followed him around.
When Joo Byung-Duk (Yoon Byung-Hee) starts digging up dirt on Mr. Baek, he discovers that he is “too clean” and is well-loved by the locals for his good deeds. But later in the show, he learns that Mr. Baek changed when his wife died and he quit being the hospital director.
It was also revealed that he was suspected of his wife’s murder, which took place at a hotel. It was alleged that his wife met up with a lover and died at the hotel. To cover up the crime, the hotel was sold and has since been turned into the apartment complex where Ji-Ung and Do Ga-Yeong (Kim A-Young) reside. Ji-Ung even lives in the exact same room where the murder took place.
Episode 8 also gives a hint that Mr. Baek wears the same ring worn by the killer in an earlier episode. He is also being suggested to be behind the murder of Ko Won’s (Baek Seo-Hoo) attempted acid attack.
With all this evidence, it’s likely that he is the killer in Miss Night and Day. But it’s just way too obvious at this point, especially since the show still has eight more episodes to go. This is why we can’t help but think that Mr. Baek might be guilty of something else other than being the killer.
There could be another person behind the serial disappearances from the past.
Na Ok-Hui
Before Mr. Baek’s character was introduced, we already had suspicions about some of the retired interns working with Lim Sun (Lee Jung-Eun), one of which is Na Ok-Hui (Bae Hae-Sun).
Why We Suspect It’s Her:
Right now, there aren’t any clues pointing to her as the probable killer in the series. But her actions from the earlier episodes make us think she’s faking her classy and aloof character. She also doesn’t seem to be too fond of Lim Sun, which would likely be the case if she were looking for her.
Another reason why we can’t help but suspect her is because she seems to be drawn to Mr. Baek for some strange reason. It’s possible that she is faking everything to hide her dark secret.
Seo Mal-Tee
We also can’t help but suspect the retired officer, Seo Mal-Tee (Choi Moo-In), ever since he revealed his previous role in the early episodes.
It’s possible that he joined the interns so he could get some scoop and hide his identity from the prosecutors investigating the case. But after episode 8, we’re not so sure it’s him.
It was revealed that Mal-Tee worked with a retired detective (Lee Jung-Yeol) who was behind the serial disappearances case. The episode also showed that he was supposed to meet Ji-Ung’s mother when she was supposed to give her statement, but she was taken by the killer.
It’s also possible that Mal-Tee joined the interns since he is close to cracking the case and decided to keep a close eye on Ok-Hui by working with her. This would likely support our suspicion that Ok-Hui is the killer in Miss Night and Day.
Who is the Killer in Miss Night and Day?
At this point, we don’t know yet who the real killer in Miss Night and Day is. But we have our suspicions that it could either be one of the names we mentioned above.
We’ll continue to update this post once more information becomes available.
