Upon this writing, the newest revenge Kdrama, Wonderful World, has only released a couple of episodes. But with these two episodes, we’ve already been through so much drama and heavy emotions that are so hard to contain. We meet a seemingly happy and perfect family in the first episode. But we later learn that the husband, Kang Soo-Ho (Kim Kang-Woo), has been keeping a secret from his wife.
What is Kim Soo-Ho’s Secret in Wonderful World?
No, we’re not talking about the pills that Eun Soo-Hyun (Kim Nam-Joo) found. We’re talking about the ace that corrupt politician Kim Joon (Park Hyuk-Kwon) discovered and used to blackmail Soo-Ho from becoming a whistleblower. So what was he hiding? Let’s try to dissect the Kdrama.

Why Did Kang Soo-Ho Resign as a Journalist?
While Soo-Hyun is a respected writer and psychology professor, her husband works as an anchor for a news program on TV. Before that, however, Soo-Ho used to be a journalist for ABS News. He was on the verge of uncovering Kim Joon’s corruption but was suddenly assigned to cover international competitions.
His superior at work told him that it was for his own good since the mayor was determined to become president someday. Angry at this response, Soo-Ho decides to quit from his job and storms out of the office.
Why is Soo-Ho Taking Panax? What is This Drug?
In the first episode of Wonderful World, Soo-Hyun discovers that her husband is taking Panax. She asks him when he started taking the medicine and he tells her that it was since he quit his journalism job.
Panax is a ginseng medication used as an adaptogen to fight fatigue, internal/external stressors, and increase stamina. It can also be used to treat the following:
- Anxiety
- Athletic/physical stamina enhancement
- Cognitive function
- Enhancement
- Depression
- Fertility (Men)
- Headaches
- Immunostimulant
- Menopausal hot flashes
- Impotence
Based on his answer to his wife, he is taking Panax for his anxiety. But our guess has something to do with the next section.
What Did Kim Joon Use as Blackmail Against Soo-Ho?
After his son’s death and wife’s imprisonment, Soo-Ho did a lot of digging into the man responsible for his son’s death. Soon, he learned that Kwon Ji-Woong (Oh Man-Seok) was connected to Kim Joon. He also discovered that the prosecutor and judge who handled the case were also in cahoots with Kim Joon.
When Kim Joon learned that Soo-Ho was digging dirt about him, he called him for a meeting.
At first, Soo-Ho was determined to release the information he found about the corrupt politician. Kim Joon, however, showed him a video clip showing the gate to their house. He asked him how his wife would respond to this discover.
Although the footage was not revealed to viewers, many have guessed that Soo-Ho’s secret was that he was having an affair. The footage could have shown his mistress exiting the house in a hurry when Soo-Hyun came home. We’re also thinking that the mistress was responsible for not closing the gate properly, which was why Kang Gun-Woo (Lee Joon) was able to go out of the house unattended.
Another hunch we have is that the mistress could be Han Yoo-Ri (Lim Se-Mi), Soo-Hyun’s own sister and assistant. It would make a lot of sense why Soo-Ho decided to accept a job as a correspondent and leave the country in a hurry instead of releasing the information he gathered on the politician.
Now that Soo-Hyun is out of prison, it is up to her to discover what her husband has been hiding all along in the guise of a perfect family.
